What if it rains?
First, we celebrate - we need the rain!
Seriously though, check this page for updates about 2 hours prior to your start time. If lightning or severe weather comes in at start time or during training, we will cancel for safety, then pick up the following week.
Weather & Prep
Can I swap my slot?
Slot swaps must be arranged directly with the other handler. Notify Clint at least 24 hours in advance to update this site.
Sometimes, a dog may not be able to attend class due to vacation, etc. That slot will be tagged in the schedule above as OPEN for that day and time only. Contact Clint if you'd like that slot for that day.
What should I bring?
Bring any collar and leash that is sufficient to handle your dog's energy and weight when affixed to the fence or under your direct control. I'd recommend a carabiner attached to the leash's handle; it is so much easier to attach to the fence.
Bring a small dish and water for your dog, especially during the summer months. For the sake of all that is canine, please bring high-value treats. Hungry dogs may offer more attention and performance, so I recommend having the dog skip breakfast. If they ask why they are not getting breakfast, I'll claim it was your idea!
Obstacle Ready
As you enter the field, please double check the Agility equipment and field for hazards.
Tunnels are held in shape by coiled metal. Sometimes, this coil breaks free of the fabric and can be a sharp hazard to dogs
Check for any loose fittings on the dog walk, teeter, and A-Frame
Jump bars are made from PVC. This material is great, but can become brittle over time when exposed to the weather. Check for cracks or breakage
Teeters have a base upon which they pivot. This base must be secured, typically by sand bags, to offer a stable and predictable pivot
Other hazards could include garbage that was blown in, cigarette butts (we don't want our dogs to get addicted to smoking), feces, etc.
